Compassion and the Gift of Life with Thupten Jinpa, PhD
Join REIMAGINE on June 18 for a day exploring compassion, human connection, and its role in organ donation and transplantation.
Part I: Compassion in Medicine Symposium — Moving from Empathy to Compassion
1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
This immersive, half-day program will bring together researchers, clinicians, educators and trainees for a dynamic exploration of compassion as both a scientific discipline and a clinical imperative. Through a curated blend of research presentations, didactic sessions, and interactive programming — including student-led research in compassion and experiential skills-based components — attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the growing body of evidence around compassion while exploring its practical applications in clinical care, medical education, and systems design.
Part II: A Conversation with Thupten Jinpa, PhD
6 pm-8 pm
Join us for a public conversation with compassion and human flourishing scholar Thupten Jinpa, PhD. Drawing on decades of research, practice and wisdom, Jinpa will explore the deeper dimensions of compassion: how it shapes the way we care for one another, how it informs medicine, and why it matters so profoundly in the spaces where generosity, grief and shared humanity converge — including in the extraordinary world of organ donation and transplantation.
