Overview:

Mx. Juneteenth is a space for reverence, remembrance, and celebration for the Juneteenth holiday. In that, it is a space that adheres a Black queer feminist politics that centers on abolition, community, solidarity with all oppressed communities, and anti-bigotry. This space explicitly promotes an environment of respect, civility, and liberation that is free of harassment and police presence.

On safety and security:

This space values safety and security for all attendees. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendees, performers, vendors, sponsors, exhibitors, booth staff, volunteers, and anyone else is strongly encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask. Although, the enforcement of masks will only take place on the stage and in the green room.

As previously stated, Mx. Juneteenth is a space free of police presence. If an attendee, performer, vendor, sponsor, exhibitor, booth staff, volunteer, or anyone else has a concern regarding safety and security during the event, they should get in contact with a member of the leadership or a volunteer for assistance.

On matters of health concerns, the affected party should visit the medical tent staffed by trained medical professionals and/or trained volunteers.

On technology:

We strongly encourage attendees, performers, vendors, and volunteers to capture the liberating joy of Mx. Juneteenth with pictures and videos and share them with friends, family, and on social media. However, flash photography is prohibited.

While at Mx. Juneteenth, or engaging with Mx. Juneteenth virtually, or any related ancillary or social events, any attendees, performers, vendors, sponsors, exhibitors, booth staff, volunteers and anyone else should not engage in harassment, violence, or harm in any form. That includes respecting the space of those around you, respecting speakers and performers by being attentive and tipping when necessary (e.g. drag performances), and NOT calling the police.
