Twist of Tradition: Hands-On Challah
This Pride Month, come braid challah and celebrate the beauty of showing up as you are.
Get your hands on dough, enjoy live music, and honor the many ways identity can be expressed, held, and affirmed in community.
Choose from bright, joyful flavors like rainbow sprinkle, poppyseed, chocolate chip, or savory herbs with flaky salt. Each loaf becomes its own expression while still part of a shared table.
As the bread rises, we will gather for a warm Shabbat moment with blessing and songs from our community partner Tkiya Music. Come ready to bake boldly, celebrate openly, and head home with a fresh loaf and a little extra pride.
Slow down and savor the moment. Step out of the week’s hustle and into the rhythm of Shabbat with challah braiding – where tradition meets community in the most delicious way. As we braid the bread dough, we’ll weave our connections, stories and a touch of joy into every strand.
Braid your own challah to take home and bake, filling your kitchen with the comforting aroma of tradition.
Drop in on the fourth Friday for a hands-on experience. Each month offers a fresh twist with new shapes, seasonal flavors and creative braids, while the classics you love are always on hand. Challah dough is made by our friends at Wise Sons.
All are welcome. No culinary experience needed.
RSVP encouraged. Drop-in welcome while supplies last.
