Description
School counselors and helping professionals are often pulled into parent–child dynamics where family stress and anxiety begin to shape school interactions. This presentation explores how triangulation patterns operate within families, how they pull others into these dynamics, and how professionals can feel stuck in the middle.
Participants will gain a clearer understanding of common parent patterns, how family anxiety transfers into school and clinical systems, and practical ways to stay grounded, set boundaries, and engage parents and students more effectively.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Identify the type of parent that you have in the room and discover ways to engage them differently
- Understanding how kids and families triangulation patterns operate and how they pull in others to these patterns
- Understanding the difference between unhealthy/unhelpful triangulation and helpful triangulation.
- Understand how to intervene in triangulation patterns moreusefully.
Please note: This event is not a CEU. Certificates of attendance will be provided and may be submitted to your board for CEU credit consideration.
