Create a beautiful hardcover book with Heather Peters
Book Making: Sewn Board Binding
Students in this course will learn the elegant book structure developed by bookbinder Gary Frost. This book structure makes an excellent sketchbook or journal because it lies flat when opened, and is a sturdy and easily recreated book structure. We will have a selection of decorative papers on hand to personalize both the cover and the end sheets, so that each participant will leave with a beautiful and uniquely personalized book.
We will go over how to sew the text block, and create a cover that is attached to the book, rather than a separate cover that is glued on. No bookbinding experience is necessary, but this course is a great add-on to the case binding workshop. All materials provided. All skill levels welcome. Age 18+
