Dr. Sketchy's Baltimore: Drag & Burlesque Life Drawing feat. Betty O'Hellno

A livelier life drawing event, Dr. Sketchy’s is where artists of all levels draw fabulous burlesque and variety performers. Enjoy delicious cocktails and compete in zany drawing contests to win free drinks and other awesome prizes! We’ll start off with quick 1- and 2-minute gesture poses and gradually move up to 20-minute sketches. No drawing experience is necessary; just bring your own drawing materials—plus generous cash tips for our model—and join us for some fun figure sketching practice!
Not only will Dr. Sketchy's Baltimore turn 18 this June, but it's also our 200th night of drinks and drawing! To celebrate, we're absolutely thrilled to have the dazzling burlesque and drag star Betty O'Hellno as our model and performer! Here's more about our June muse:
"Betty O'Hellno is a queer drag artist and burlesque performer. Over the past decade, she has performed on every stage imaginable! Betty has been the sparkling diamond descending from the ceiling of Victorian theaters and has had the honor of gracing the cover of Baltimore Magazine in June 2019. She is the first drag queen to perform with the Washington Wizards during a half-time show and has graced numerous stages including the (OG) Kennedy Center and the Baltimore Center Stage. Betty believes whole-heartedly in the incredible healing power of rhinestone sparkle and the positive celebration of the human body in all of its beautiful forms.Follow her on Instagram @bettyohellno for more sparkle!"
Come early to get the best seats and a drink—and even a delicious dinner—then stay after we wrap up to share your work with fellow artists over one last drink at the bar.
Doors at 6:00 pm, drawing from 7-10 pm. 18+ to draw, 21+ to drink. $15 in advance, $20 at the door, plus service fees for online and in-person credit card transactions. BYO drawing supplies; compact drawing set-ups with a sketchbook/pad no larger than 14" x 17" are strongly recommended. No photography, messy paints, or dip pens, please (watercolors are fine).
