Lights at Night: Long Exposures and Fireworks Class + Photo Op

Class Description:

Fireworks and long exposures go hand-in-hand, and this is your opportunity to expand your skills to help you to feel confident before the big July 4th celebrations.

We'll begin our evening with a one hour class covering the fundamentals of long exposure and firework photography. Learn about settings, gear recommendations, accessories, and techniques for capturing dazzling, artistic images.

Next, we'll head out to the parking lot to put those techniques into practice with a combination of LED lights and sparklers. Art's expert staff will be present to help you with your camera settings.

Since sunset isn't until aproximately 8:35 PM, we'll primarily be practicing at twilight/dusk, but the techniques and settings you'll learn will translate directly to nighttime fireworks photography.

Event Schedule:

• 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Classroom Presentation
• 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM: Class Buffer, Refreshements & Gear Exploring
• 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM: Outdoor Light Painting & Sparklers Guided Photo Op

We've intentionally built in a half-hour break between sessions to allow time for schedule flexibility, and the opportunity for attendees to borrow or test out gear before heading outside to shoot.

  Perfect for those who already know the basics and want guided practice shooting long exposures and creative effects

Do I Need to Pre-Register?

Yes! Space is limited for both portions of the event, and pre-registration is required. Don’t wait to reserve your spot.

What do I bring to class?

• We will provide a printout of the PowerPoint slides for you to take notes on. You will be able to take the PowerPoint notes home.
• Camera + lens(es)
• Fully charged battery (backups if needed)
• Memory card(s)
• Tripod highly recommended
