Weekly Projects:

June 4 | Messages from the Future: A Time Capsule Project (ages 8-12)

What would you want someone in the future to know about life today? Participants will decorate their own time capsule container and complete a worksheet describing themselves, their world, and life in Grantville in 2026. They may also contribute something to a shared community time capsule capturing childhood in Grantville today.

June 11 | Pieces of the Past: Dinosaur Egg Mosaics (ages 6-10)

Participants will create and decorate their own dino egg design using a mix of textures, patterns, and colorful materials. Piece by piece, they will create a one-of-a-kind prehistoric mosaic inspired by fossils and ancient discoveries.

June 25 | Dino Detectives: A Library Scavenger Hunt (ages 4-10)

Become a dinosaur detective and search the library for hidden prehistoric creatures! Participants will use a checklist to spot various types of dinosaurs, learn their names and features, and mark each discovery before turning in their sheet for a small prize.

July 9 | Stories Set in Stone (and Clay!): An Ancient Art Adventure (ages 8-12)

Travel back in time to discover how ancient people told stories without books! Participants will explore how symbols and pictures shared stories across cultures and time, then create their own clay story pot by etching images that tell a tale all their own.

July 16 | Pasta Paleontology (ages 6-12)

Children will paint a background, then make a dinosaur skeleton with different shapes of dried pasta.

July 23 | Dino Puzzle Craft (ages 8-15)

Piece together the prehistoric with our Dino Puzzle Craft—build, decorate, and assemble your very own roaring masterpiece. It’s hands‑on creativity with a Jurassic twist, perfect for anyone ready to puzzle like a paleontologist
