About the Photographer:
Brandi Grahl is a published wildlife photographer specializing in bird photography, with six years of experience capturing avian life in its natural environment. Originally from South Texas and now based in Appleton, Wisconsin, Brandi has developed a deep passion for photographing loons and other feathered subjects.
Her experience as a licensed falconer provides her with a unique understanding of bird behavior, flight dynamics, and the ethical responsibilities of photographing wild animals. This perspective allows her to create images that are both personal and respectful.
Brandi is actively involved in bird conservation efforts. She volunteers as a bird rescuer for injured waterbirds and raptors, and she contributes her time and resources to Project SOAR (Snowy Owl Airport Rescue), relocating birds from local airports to safer habitats. Her commitment to avian welfare extends to her photography practice, where she always prioritizes the well-being of her subjects over getting the perfect shot.
In addition to her fieldwork, Brandi serves on the board of a local community nonprofit supporting the visual arts, where she advocates for wildlife photography and conservation awareness. Her work reflects a deep love of birds and a lasting respect for the natural world.
As an advocate for bird conservation, Brandi is passionate about sharing ethical bird photography techniques and fostering appreciation for birds and the habitats they depend on.
