About Leslie

Leslie studied at the East Asian Studies, McGill University (BA), and the East Asian Studies, Stanford University (MA) and the Fine Art Photography, Corcoran College of Art and Design (AFA).

Her start as an artist was in black and white photography. She loved the magic of the darkroom and loved photographing the people around her, especially children.

She later branched into painting and then finally landed on printmaking. I love using photography as a basis for screenprints and relief prints, in particular woodblock and linocut prints.

Her first show involved the theme of Iron and Steel. She continues to be fascinated by iron bridges, cranes, old machines and other structures. There is no limitations on subjects to be treated in printmaking. Her style is of a primitive bent. Being with a cooperative gallery offers inspiration and stimulation of new ideas. She really enjoy the comraderie of meeting other artists and learning from them.

As of 2025 she began learning about “Reductive Screenprinting.” Instead of beginning with a photo stencilone starts with a drawing on the screen. It’s a safer process and she is really enjoying it!
