The Waterphone Interactive Performance and Clinic

House of Found ObjectsBirmingham, AL
Overview

Get ready to dive into the eerie sounds of the waterphone and try your hand at this unique instrument in a fun, interactive session.

If youve seen Rollin in the Hay lately, then youve witnessed the wizardry of Brooks Hubbert III. Master of all things stringed and reiging champion of bluegrass beatboxing. What many people don't know is that Brooks is also the builder of the incredible instrument known as the Waterphone, a hauntingly beautiful creation whose legacy was passed down to him by it's inventor, Richard Waters. On Thursday, June 11, we'll bring an interactive clinic featuring the otherwordly sounds of the Waterphone to the equally unique venue, The House of Found Objects in Birmingham Alabama. Expect strange sounds, musical magic, and at least a few moments where you"ll wonder if the building is haunted. The Waterphone has been featured in over 600 movies and television shows. If you're a film buff, this is a don,t miss show.
