EdAllies' 2026 Education Policy Recap: Session Outcomes from PreK-College

Overview

A virtual event recapping key education policy debates and where we go from here.

The 2026 Minnesota legislative session was a roller coaster. From a national spotlight during Operation Metro Surge to a looming election season and a non-budget year, we entered the session with numerous needs for Minnesota kids but question marks on whether anything would actually get done.

During our 2026 End-of-Session Recap, we’ll break down what happened during this legislative session, exploring the key policy debates in K-12, plus insights on early childhood and postsecondary policy. We’ll give updates on literacy, school funding, discipline, protections for immigrant students, teacher licensure and more. Hear from our team and key partners with insights on the politics that got a few things across the finish line but left most things undone—and what that means for students going forward.

Join us for a candid evaluation of progress this year for kids and what needs to happen before the 2027 session.
