Where can I park?

Paid parking is available across the street at the Metra parking. Free parking is available on some of the surrounding streets (e.g. W. Thorndale), directly in front of ESS, and in the alley directly south of us. When parking in front of ESS, please leave space between the building and your vehicle.

Is there Accessible Parking?

Accepted Answer

Behind ESS through the alley, there are two parking spots which we are happy to reserve for anyone with accessibility needs who is attending a show in the garden. Please contact info@ess.org to reserve a spot.

Are the building entrances accessible?

Accepted Answer

Yes:

From the Ravenswood entrance there is a ramp to our first floor (Audible Gallery, Live Room, Studio A).

From our alley entrance there is a graded path to our Garden (where OPTION takes place) and downstairs.

There is no ADA-accessible path inside the building to switch between floors.

Where are the bathrooms?

There are accessible bathrooms on both floors. On the first floor the bathroom is located in the northeast corner of Audible Gallery (front-most room). On the basement/garden level, the bathroom is past the common area, first door on the right.

Are children welcome?

Yes, though we do ask that they be respectful of the musicians while they are performing. ESS's Audible Gallery space at the front of the building is available for families if kids need a little break from the concert setting.
