What is Left on Stage™?

Left on Stage™ is Left on Read’s live music series featuring intimate performances, close-up storytelling, and conversations with local and regional artists. Each event offers a curated, cozy experience inside the bookstore.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open at 6:00 pm. The show starts promptly at 6:30 pm. Arriving early gives you time to get settled, browse the shelves, and choose your seat.

Are tickets available at the door?

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, while space lasts. Founding Members attend  on the house (one free ticket per member)!

Is seating assigned?

Seating is first come, first served. The space is small and intimate, so early arrival is encouraged.

Will there be time to meet the artist?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After the performance, you can stay for photos with Erin and join us for Stories from the Stacks, our artist Q&A.

Can I shop during the event?

Yes. The store will be open before and after the show for browsing and purchases.

Is this an all-ages event?

Yes. All ages are welcome, although the atmosphere is designed for a calm, listening-centered experience.

I'm no longer able to attend. Can I get a refund?

All ticket sales are final. If you can no longer attend, you’re welcome to gift your ticket to someone who would enjoy the event. Left on Read is not responsible for managing ticket transfers.

Is food allowed?

Covered drinks are fine. We ask that you avoid bringing meals or loud snacks to keep the listening environment comfortable for everyone.

By attending this event, you consent to the use of your image, likeness, and/or voice in photos, videos, or other media captured during the event. These may be used by Left on Read, The Millennial Black Professor®, and TMBP Media for promotional, educational, or archival purposes.

Is your space accessible?

The bookstore is located on the main level of The Renfro (across from Naftzger Park, on Gallery Alley), with level entry access. If you need additional support, email us in advance so we can assist you.

Where should I park?

Paid street parking is available along Douglas and St. Francis. There is a parking lot behind the building off of 1st street, where you can park (at your own risk) in unmarked spots and "Hutton Only" spaces. There are also several nearby lots and garages within a short walk.

Who can attend?

While all are welcome, our events center and support the experiences of Black and Brown communities. By attending, you agree to honor the purpose of the space and participate in a way that aligns with its energy and intention.
