Beaverton: Parkinson's Disease - More than Motor Symptoms (Hybrid)
Presented by PRO Annual Sponsor, Acadia. This discussion will be led by Dr. Matthew Brodsky.
Join us in-person or online for an engaging discussion regarding non-motor symptoms of PD with Matthew Brodsky, MD.
Did you know that:
- Around 50% of people living with Parkinson's Disease may experience hallucinations and/or delusions during the course of their disease
- About 90% of patients don't proactively tell their physician about it
- Many are familiar with the motor symptoms that people can experience with Parkinson's disease but what may be unexpected are non-motor symptoms like hallucinations and delusion
- There are treatments available if this is occurring
Dr. Brodsky will help you learn what the most common non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's are as well as how common these experiences can be. You will also learn ways to talk with your healthcare team about symptoms and explore approaches to developing a personalized healthcare plan. Dr. Brodsky will also be joined by an Acadia patient ambassador to share their experience with managing the symptoms of Parkinson’s psychosis.
Matthew Brodsky, MD is a neurologist and researcher at Oregon Health Sciences University. He has has been in practice for over 20 years and lectures internationally on movement disorders.
If you live in the Portland metro area, we strongly encourage you to attend in person! A light lunch will be provided to those who attend in-person.
