From Frustration to Connection: Transforming Difficult Conversations
Do you ever feel as if you’re the only one trying — and that no matter what you say or do, nothing really changes?
This is an in-person event in Columbia, MD between Baltimore and the Washington DC area.
It doesn’t have to stay stuck this way — with people feeling frustrated and believing nothing can ever change. Sometimes it only takes one person showing up differently to begin changing the whole pattern. There is hope!”Nonviolent Communication offers practical, compassionate tools for moving beyond blame, defensiveness, and misunderstanding toward conversations where people feel more heard, respected, and connected.
Persons of all levels of NVC experience are welcome. The structure of the practice will differ for people with different levels of NVC experience with the intention of all participants feeling comfortable and that their needs are held with care.
More about Jane Connor, Certified Nonviolent Communication trainer by the CNVC / organization for the past 14 years: https://www.cnvc.org
Jane Connor is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Maryland whose passion is helping families build more understanding, respectful, and loving relationships. She believes that even long-standing patterns of frustration and disconnection can begin to shift when people have the right tools, support, and practice.
In this workshop, Jane also brings her excitement about emerging possibilities in Artificial Intelligence. Together with a colleague she regards as exceptionally gifted in technology, she is exploring how AI can help people practice real-life conversations, receive useful feedback, and strengthen their communication skills—much like having access to a skilled coach for role-play, reflection, and growth. Her vision is hopeful and practical: to help people become more capable, compassionate, and effective in the relationships that matter most.
