Needle Felting Class - Patric the Panda: Star of the Big Top

*No food allowed in the classroom (per instructor request) - please ask the instructor.
Skill Level: Intermediate / "Step-Up" Beginner

Step into the ring and bring a touch of vintage magic to life! Patric is the ultimate performer—cool, calm, and perfectly collected as he balances atop his signature red and white ball. Standing roughly 5.5” tall, this monochrome marvel captures the whimsy of the old-world circus with a classic ruffled collar and vibrant "button" details. To ensure you can focus on the artistry of the panda himself, your balancing ball comes pre-sculpted in your kit. This allows us to dedicate our time to character work and fine needlework.

What You’ll Learn:
*Architectural Felting: Building a sturdy core wool base and attaching complex shapes.
*Precision Detailing: Fine needlework for facial expressions and seamless line work.
*Color Blocking: Mastering the contrast of a classic black-and-white palette.
*Finishing Touches: Attaching 3D accents like a collar and colorful chest ornaments.

All supplies are provided. While part of a circus-themed series, Patric is a perfect standalone piece for any collector!

To ensure the best environment for your wool creations, please refrain from bringing open food into the class. Closed-container drinks are welcome!

We also ask that you avoid applying lotion to your hands immediately before class.

About the Artist/Instructor: Joy, a needle felting artist native to the beautiful state of Oregon, has been captivated by the transformative power of wool for over 16 years. With a special needle and a vibrant palette of colored wool, Joy sculpts unique and whimsical creations that have found homes across the United States. Instantly drawn to the tactile and expressive nature of needle felting, Joy is passionate about sharing this relaxing and rewarding craft. For the past several years, she has been teaching individuals and groups, making needle felting accessible to everyone. This summer, Joy looks forward to introducing you to, or re-engaging you with, the wonderful world of needle felting, where creativity and wool come together.
