A Shared Home Place
Irish Diaspora Voices on Heritage, Connection, and Shared Island Futures
Join the Kennedy Institute for an engaging panel discussion exploring the central question: What does a shared home place mean to Ireland’s diaspora and for the island of Ireland, past, present and future?
Presented as part of the Government of Ireland’s Shared Home Place: Ireland and the World programme – a global dialogue launched in the spirit of the Good Friday Agreement – this program invites Irish people abroad, from all traditions and backgrounds, to come together to explore their shared heritage and cultural, place-based connections and the future of our shared island.
Moderated by Prof. Mary Murphy, Director of the Irish Institute at Boston College, the panel will explore how these diaspora experiences continue to shape connections to Ireland, to one another, and to Ireland’s evolving future.
Panelists will include Boston City Council President Liz Breadon; Niall Worn, CEO of TalentSensors and Board Member of the Boston Irish Business Association; Dawn Morrissey, Director of the Irish Film Festival, Boston; and Colleen Kelly, Director of Business Development at Shawmut Design and Construction and Board Member of the Irish Cultural Centre of Greater Boston.
This program is presented with generous support from the Government of Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.
