Independence Day on the Back Bay 2026 at Newport Dunes

We are celebrating the U.S.A's 250th Anniversary with live music, food trucks, activities, and fireworks by the City of Newport Beach.

Bring out the red, white, and blue for the 4th of July, as we celebrate 250 years at Independence Day on the Back Bay! Free attendance for Fireworks Extravaganza co-sponsored by the City of Newport Beach. Enjoy live entertainment, food trucks, beach bars, water sports and more along the calm waters of the Back Bay. Gates open at 8:00 am.

Ticket is for one (1) reserved parking space for one (1) vehicle. All vehicles must be able to fit within the standard 10' x 9' parking spot. RVs, trailers, or any vehicle that would require more than one parking space will not be permitted. Ticket is good for one entrance only - there is no car re-entry. The Newport Beach Police Department closes access to Back Bay Drive (where our main parking lot is located) prior to the fireworks show around 8:00 pm on 7/4/26. Access is re-opened after the fireworks show. Please plan to arrive prior to 8:00 pm if you purchase a reserved spot.

Newport Beach Firework Show

Time: 9:00 pm

Enjoy an epic firework extravaganza right here at Newport Dunes. The show is co-sponsored by the City of Newport Beach.

Live Beachfront Entertainment

Time: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: At the Horseshoe Stage, between Pavilion C and the Gazebo

The Class playing all genres including Oldies, Classic Rock & Top 40s

Food Trucks Feast & Full Bars

Time: 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Food Trucks include West Coast Hibachi, Salt N Pepper, Kettle Corn King, Philly King, Italian Burger, Mom's Kitchen, & Savory Time. Full bars offering cocktails, wine & beer.

Newport Dunes Inflatable Aquatic Park & Water Sports

Time: 9:30 am – 4:30 pm (may close early to prepare for firework show)

Rent double-kayaks, pedal boats, standup paddleboards, or one of our 21-foot electric Duffy boats (seats up to 8 people). Have a blast on our Inflatable Aquatic Park, featuring 20+ inflatables including monkey bars, slides and more. Advance reservations are recommended for all water sports. Click here to reserve online! Moe B’s Munchies – Beachfront Grill and Bar

Time: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Location: Along the promenade near the market. Delicious grilled burgers, chicken sandwiches, pizza, salads, and snacks. Full bar offering cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine. View menu here

Public Beach

Time: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm

E njoy the beach and calm waters of the Back Bay. The beach will get very busy. Gates open at 8:00 am.

Parking Admission

Purchase of a Fourth of July Reserved Parking Pass through Eventbrite is valid for one (1) reserved parking space for one (1) vehicle. All vehicles must be able to fit within the standard 10'x9' parking spot. RVs, trailers, or any vehicle that would require more than one parking space will not be permitted. **Parking will also be available day-of on a first-come, first-served basis in our West Parking Lot for $50. Based on availability. Enter at the intersection on PCH/N Bayside Drive. Please note, this lot is unpaved and about a 5 to 10-minute walk to the public beach area.**

NO OUTSIDE FIREWORKS. Portable BBQs, fire pits, and grills of any kind are PROHIBITED on the beach or grass areas by the City of Newport Beach. Violators may be subject to citations and fines up to $3,000. Don't let a costly violation ruin your 4th of July and help protect the environment. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL ALLOWED.

We strongly recommend leaving pets at home. Since the fireworks are launched on the resort property, they are exceptionally loud and stress most pets.
