The Austin Poetry Slam is a weekly event held every Wednesday at Alamo Drafthouse- Mueller, inside the Barrel O'Fun,  that showcases  amazing and original spoken-word artists in a no holds barred, raucous, energized event.

👾🛸🎲 AUSTIN POETRY SLAM PRESENTS: NERD SLAM 🎮📚⚔️Hosted by Mr. Dave, Nerd Slam is a celebration of fandoms, hyper-fixations, useless trivia, deep lore, and the beautiful chaos of being way too passionate about something.Whether your personality is built around anime, horror movies, Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars, coding, Doctor Who, D&amp;D, video games, comic books, obscure history facts, or a niche internet rabbit hole, this is the slam for you!Come perform. Come judge. Come watch people passionately explain fictional universes through poetry.📍 EVENT DETAILS🍔 Full bar + Alamo Drafthouse food menu available 🚗 Parking is validated 🧒 All ages welcome ⚠️ Performances may contain strong language &amp; adult themes⚔️ THE FORMAT🎤 Round 1: The Deep Dive Bring your fandoms, niche interests, and hyper-fixations. Poems must be nerd-themed.🧠 Round 2: Trivia Gauntlet Earn an extra ¼ point for every correct trivia answer.👑 Round 3: The Final Boss Nerd themes become optional, but are highly encouraged.📜 SLAM RULES ⏱️ 3-minute time limit with 10-second grace period enforced 🎭 Props and costumes ARE allowed 🎤 Sign up to slam, volunteer to judge, or just enjoy the showMay the odds be ever in your fandom.
