The Tarbox Ramblers’ sound is rooted in hillbilly music, backwater blues and early rock ‘n’ roll. It’s rough-hewn, dark and joyous, and unfailingly direct. Previewing the band’s no-holds-barred live show, The New Yorker said “Between the fiddle, string bass, drums and slide guitar, you won't know what hit you.”

Led by songwriter Michael Tarbox, the group also features violinist Daniel Kellar and the hard-hitting rhythm section of string-bassist Johnny Sciascia and drummer Jon Cohan Kellar’s mesmerizing solos, and Tarbox’s barbed-wire guitar, give the band its edge. The combination of Sciascia’s percussive rockabilly style and Cohan’s New Orleans parade drums is its secret sauce. The Ramblers will be joined by Jim Fitting of Treat Her Right, The The and Session Americana fame on harmonica.

The Tarbox Ramblers have released two albums on the Rounder label, played clubs and festivals throughout The US and Canada, and worked with heroes like Robert Plant, Allison Krauss and legendary producer Jim Dickinson.
