Sil-hue-tte Stroll - Get rooted. Get curious. Get creative.
Where Blk & Brwn adults can forage, create & connect at Rock Creek Park. A grounding experience for curious creatives. All levels welcomed.
Some of the most powerful creative tools aren't found in a studio — they're growing right beneath your feet.
Sil-hue-tte Stroll is a collaborative outdoor experience brought to you by Detox Art and Afroforagers, designed to slow you down, wake your senses up, and remind you that nature has always been your greatest creative partner.
This isn't just a walk. This is an invitation to see differently.
What to Expect
We'll move through the serene landscape of Rock Creek Regional Park together — but with intention. Along the way, you'll be guided through plant identification and the stories behind what's growing around us, hands-on creative exercises inspired by the natural world, prompted moments of reflection and connection with the people around you, and an opening and closing ritual that honors the space, and each other.
Leave your assumptions at the trailhead. Come curious.
Why It's Good For You
- We weren't designed to stay inside — and your body knows it.
- Spending time walking in green spaces has been shown to improve cardiovascular health, reduce anxiety and depression, lower blood pressure, strengthen the immune system, and restore mental focus. Nature doesn't just look good — it heals.
- But we're taking it further. Sil-hue-tte Stroll pairs the science of nature's benefits with the emotional power of creative expression. Creativity practiced outdoors becomes a tool for stress release, mindfulness, and genuine connection — with yourself and with others. It's theraputic.... you didn't know you needed, wrapped in fresh air and good company.
- For those who've been feeling the weight of burnout, overstimulation, or disconnection — this experience was made with you in mind.
