Wildfire returns to Wildhaven for an unforgettable evening shaped by live flame, remarkable food, mountain air, music, and gathering well.

Held beneath the open sky in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Wildfire is more than a dinner. It is a fire-to-table dining and gathering experience designed to slow people down and pull them fully into the moment.

Smoke curls through the fields as courses emerge from open fire throughout the evening. Music drifts across the landscape. Glasses clink beneath twinkling lights. Conversations stretch long into the night beside candlelight and stars.

This season’s gathering is centered around a feeling we’ve been quietly building toward at Wildhaven:

🔥 Our 2026 Wildfire Guest Chef is James Beard–nominated chef Alek Schober of Reid’s Cafe, The Beacon, and Betty’s Biscuits in the High Country, joined for the evening by Reid’s owner Tina Houston.

An avid forager and deeply seasonal chef, Alek is known for thoughtful cuisine rooted in the farms, forests, and rhythms of Western North Carolina. Cooking entirely over live flame, he will create a multi-course summer menu inspired by the landscape surrounding us.

• Multi-course live-fire dining by Chef Alek Schober
• Local wine, botanical cocktails, and thoughtfully paired beverages
• Live music beneath the stars
• Candlelit gathering spaces throughout the property
• Seasonal ingredients sourced from Western North Carolina farms and ranches
• Thoughtful details woven throughout the evening

Wildfire has quietly become Wildhaven’s signature gathering, returning each season with very limited seating.

🔥 Wildfire also serves as Wildhaven’s annual “farm-raiser,” with proceeds supporting ongoing land regeneration and conservation efforts at Wildhaven.
