Animation Summer Camp

Animation Summer Camp

Overview

Join us for FOUR days of Animation fun!

Ages 9 - 12

Two 4-day camps to choose from: June 15 - 18 or July 20 - 23

Each camp meets daily from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Drop off at Homer Art and Frame. Pick up at The Porcupine!

Camp director Daniel Dobrosielski will guide campers through the basic principles of animation and show them how to design memorable characters, create stop motion shorts, animate a walking cycle and much more!

Campers will practice the basic principles of animation with both flip books and Stop Motion Studio which is an excellent stop motion app on both Android and iOS.

They will also work together in teams to create animated shorts utilizing industry standard programs and equipment. This will include the whole animation process: brainstorming, outlining, designing, construction, lighting, camerawork, sound recording, editing, and lots of problem solving!

Each day after lunch we will walk down to the Porcupine Theater for screenings of animation classics. Campers will need to bring weather appropriate attire for the walk.

Campers will need to bring their own lunch, snacks, and water bottles!
