Weavers Informational Community Conversation
American Public Square hosts the first community conversation discussing the Weavers: The Social Fabric Project - The Aspen Institute
Join American Public Square for a community conversation to learn about Weave: the Social Fabric Project by Aspen Institute and opportunities to seek grant sponsorship for organizations building civic trust here in KC. APS was selected by the Aspen Institute as local host of the Weaver Awards and will be supporting community leaders through micro-grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 for nonprofit groups strengthening trust, relationships, and civic life across our region over the next four years. This conversation will walk through what it means to be a “Weaver,” the impact this initiative is designed to have locally, and the timeline for the rest of the year, including upcoming milestones and opportunities to get involved. We’ll also use this gathering to begin identifying and inviting people already doing this work in Kansas City, and to ask attendees to help surface others they see quietly building connection and resilience in their own neighborhoods.
