Gullah/Geechee Famlee Day is de annual famlee reunion fa all de Gullah/Geechee worldwide. Jayn we pun historic St. Helena Island, SC at de Penn Center National Landmark Historic District and de Reconstruction Era National Historical Park Fridee, July 24, 2026 at 6 pm een de Dr. York W. Bailey Museum at Penn Center and Satdee July 25, 2026 at Noon fa authentic Gullah/Geechee language, music, food, art, books, and famlee fun!
Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation will host both events.
Friday's pre-Gullah/Geechee Famlee Day reception will feature artist Bruce Ingram and the Gullah/Geechee CREATE Artists Collective. All art and books will be for sale.
DJ Kwame Sha of All Mobile Productions™(AMP™) will keep the crowd dancing all day on Saturday along with Wona Womalan African Dance Group and Beth Inabinett and For the Funk of It Band.
Tours of the York W. Bailey Museum and the Reconstruction Era National Historical Park will take place throughout the weekend.
Gullah/Geechee art and traditional crafts will be on sale by the creators of these one of a kind pieces. Plenee Gullah/Geechee cuisine gwine be dey fa nyam pun.
Bring the children and the elders out to a positive and uplifting family event.
