Cool Subalpine Birding in The Clouds

I liked seeing the Cassin's Finch female up close and hearing the Olive-sided Flycatchers. And the Lawrence's Goldfinches were an unexpected surprise!". THE DETAILS:

• Leader: Kurt Leuschner, Professor of Natural Resources, College of the Desert, Ornithologist
• Date and Time: Friday, June 5, 2026, 10:30 am- about 12:30 pm ( see WEBSITE INSTRUCTIONS on purchasing Tram tickets and arriving on time) Remember MEMBERS receive a 20% discount on Tram tickets.
• Meet at: 3rd floor terrace at the top of outdoor stairs one floor up from the 2nd floor Mountain Station tram terminal. Look for Kurt pictured below. If you cannot attend please cancel online as soon as you know. Preparation: At least 1 liter of water, sturdy shoes, snack, binoculars (also available to loan free at 1st floor Visitor Center) Hat, sun screen, bird check list (available at the NHA Visitor Center).
• Hike Level: Easy, mostly trail walk
• Class Size: Limit: 12
• Registration: Each individual attending must be registered with their own name. A registered name occuring more than once will be considered an error and cancelled.
• Release of Liability: Important: You may read the https://www.msjnha.org/liability/ online at your leasure before the hike. The hike leader will have a copy which you must sign before departing on the hike. This liability waiver is required for all NHA hiking events.
• Note: To borrow BINOCULARS you must email Kurt after registration, letting him know if you need one or more. Further, if you cannot attend please cancel online as soon as you know.
