Hike for the stars and support local trails with BYLT’s fourth annual Summer Star Hike Challenge, with many chances to win prizes.

June 1 - 25, 2026Trails across Nevada &amp; Yuba CountiesHike for the stars and support local trails with BYLT’s fourth annual Summer Star Hike Challenge! Lace up your boots, get outside, and explore some of our region’s most beautiful trails as you search for stars all June long. Discover new favorite destinations, revisit beloved paths, and challenge yourself to see how many stars you can find while enjoying fresh air, scenic views, and outdoor adventure. Every hike helps celebrate and support the local trails that connect our community to nature—so grab your friends, family, or hiking crew and make this summer your most star-filled yet!This year’s adventure features:<ul><li>17 local trails to explore, challenge yourself, and discover something new</li><li>17 stars to find, each crafted by an artist from Neighborhood Center of the Arts</li><li>Over a dozen exciting raffle prizes</li><li>Pre-registration required</li></ul>Pre-registration for this event is required:<ul><li>Registration is $25 per person, $15 for participants under 18.</li><li>All registrations include entry into the Summer Star Hike Challenge and raffle, 2026 Trail Vibes T-Shirt*, and a Star Map to help locate the stars.</li><li>All proceeds from the Star Hike Challenge support the programs and mission of BYLT.</li></ul>*You must register by June 3, 2026 to receive a t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for pick up at the Street Party on June 27 and anytime after that at the BYLT Office in Grass Valley.

<h3>HOW IT WORKS</h3><ol><li>Preregister Online: Adult registration - $25 per person Youth registration (under 18) - $15 per person All registrations include entry into the Summer Star Hike Challenge and raffle, 2026 Trail Vibes T-Shirt, and a Star Map to help locate the stars. PLEASE NOTE: You must register by June 3 to receive a t-shirt; the Star Map will be emailed to you at 12 o'clock midnight on June 1. </li><li>From June 1 -25, 2026 use the Star Map to visit as many different star locations as possible. </li><li>A QR code will accompany each star on the trail. Scan the QR code and fill in your information on the form to submit your entry. Each star you find and submit equals one entry into the raffle. (If you do not have service, take a photo of the QR code and place your entry when you return to an area with service.) </li><li>The more stars you find, the greater the chances to win one of many exciting raffle prizes! There is one raffle for general participants and one just for youth. You will be entered into the raffle corresponding with your category. Raffle winners will be drawn at our Celebration of Trails Street Party on Saturday, June 27, 5-8pm on Mill Street in Grass Valley. You do not need to be present to win. </li><li>For bonus entries into the raffle drawing, take a selfie with each star and tag BYLT on Instagram @bearyubalandtrust and on Facebook @bearyuba with #summerstarhikechallenge2026 (participant’s social media account must be set to public or we will not be able to see your tagged photos). </li><li>Entries will be accepted until 9:00pm on June 25. Entries after this time will not be counted. </li><li>Mark your calendar for the Celebration of Trails Street Party on Saturday, June 27, 5-8pm on Mill Street in Grass Valley and come out and celebrate with your fellow hikers! The event includes live music from The Gold Souls, hike challenge awards, Summer Star Hike Challenge raffle drawing, and more! This is also a great opportunity to pick up your Summer Star Hike Challenge T-Shirt. </li><li>Get out and hike for the stars, June 1 - 25, 2026!</li></ol>
