Join The Puppet Zoo and Sandbox Theatre Collective Sunday, May 24th for an introductory animal puppet building workshop for all ages!

Join The Puppet Zoo and Sandbox Theatre Collective Sunday, May 24th at 2pm for an introductory animal puppet building workshop for all ages!

Come ready to learn and ready to have fun! Emilie Helene Wingate is a Chicago-based puppet fabricator with a focus on animals, hyperrealism,  and pushing to create from 100% recycled materials, down to the glue! Art has been Emilie's passion ever since the third grade, and she is grateful to say that it is now her life. She often works with companies such as the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, Rough House, and various smaller companies as a fabricator and an occasional performer. It is her hope to bring more light to the world through the art of puppetry, and the joy of animals.

Sandbox Theatre Collective is a non-hierarchical theatre company with a focus on new and reimagined works, and creating opportunities for as many local artists as possible. In the past three years we’ve mounted full productions, performed in living rooms and local businesses, produced multiple new play development workshops (and a new musical workshop!), and we’re just getting started. Come check out our upcoming show Happy Birthday Mars Rover, opening June 19th at Mrs. Murphys & Sons Irish Bistro!

Doors open at 1:45pm with the workshop beginning at 2pm! Materials will be provided, so just bring yourself and your excitement!

Tickets will be available on a sliding scale of $25-$65.

All proceeds from this workshop will go towards Sandbox Theatre Collective’s upcoming show, Happy Birthday Mars Rover! Head over to their website sandboxtheatrecollective.com to learn more.
