NextWave Startup Lab Climate Edition
A 3-day, hands-on startup crash course for early-stage founders building in clean energy, climate infrastructure, sustainable agriculture
Next Wave Startup Lab — Climate Edition
A 3-day startup lab for climate founders.
Dates: May 29 – 31, 2026
Next Wave Climate Edition gives early-stage climate founders a hands-on crash course in how to build a high-impact venture. Over three days you'll move from idea to action through interactive workshops, real-time mentor feedback, and peer collaboration — grounded in real customer insight, market realities, and community impact.
Whether you're working on clean energy and electrification, climate infrastructure and systems, sustainable agriculture and the built environment, or the circular economy — Next Wave is your entry point into a scalable, cluster-connected climate venture.
Why join Next Wave Climate?
Great climate ideas can come from anywhere — but many innovators don't yet have the tools, network, or support to get them off the ground. Next Wave is built as a welcoming space for entrepreneurs, creatives, engineers, students, and community members who want to build the solutions our region needs.
No prior business experience? That's fine. All you need is an idea — or the curiosity to explore one.
Over three days, you'll:
- Validate your idea with real customer insights and interviews
- Design a clear, scalable business model
- Build a lean financial forecast
- Develop a go-to-market strategy
- Practice your pitch with experienced mentors and innovation leaders
Who should apply
Next Wave Climate is open to early-stage and first-time founders across the Portland Metropolitan Statistical Area, innovators, students, and community members ready to build in the climate economy.
If your interest sits in clean energy, climate infrastructure, agriculture and the built environment, or the circular economy — Next Wave connects you to the mentors, peers, and platforms shaping climate innovation in Oregon and Washington.
Come with an idea, or come with curiosity. Walk out with a venture, feedback, and momentum.
