The Narrows is hosting an evening with Mike Nardelli, Agave Market Manager for California, Washington, and Alaska, representing Código 1530 Tequila, Del Maguey Mezcal, and Altos Tequila within Pernod Ricard’s agave portfolio.Mike is an Agave Advisor with the Agave Spirits Institute and has spent years educating teams, accounts, and guests on the history, production, and culture behind tequila and mezcal. He’s flying to Juneau to lead a six-pour guided tasting through two of the most respected agave portfolios in the world: Código 1530’s tequila lineup and Del Maguey’s single-village mezcals.This is an education night first. Mike will walk us through how agave is grown, harvested, roasted, fermented, and distilled; what makes single-village mezcal so special; why Código rests its tequila in French white oak Cabernet barrels; and what to actually look for in the glass. Bring questions, Mike loves talking agave.Every guest takes home a Código-branded Glencairn glass.
