A two-day exhibition exploring Black embodied worship
UNDIGNIFIED looks at forms of embodied worship across the Black Atlantic such as ‘the praise break’ and ‘isoji’, rooting them in biblical and historical truth.
Using photography, visual art, and history, visitors can explore how African and Caribbean communities have resisted attempts to control their bodies. Instead they have found freedom in the message of Jesus Christ, not denying their bodies but bringing them fully to the place of worship.
