We are America's first Smartshop. While new to the Bay Area, smartshops have been around for over 20 years in Europe. “Smartshop” is a term used to describe a shop that sells: Nootropics, Herbal Remedies/After Party Care, and Live/Dried Botanical Samples for Research Purposes. These shops began to open in response to a need for education about entheogenic plants and herbal medicine.In addition to providing access to and education about these medicinal plants, we strive to host a variety of special events and serve as a hub for community gatherings, education, healing, art, and other forms of expression and exploration.

We’ll be spinning selections from the legendary band Gong — the cosmic jazz-rock collective led by Daevid Allen — and exploring how their music, philosophy, and spirit live on through the Church of Mother Gong.</p><p>Whether you’re a longtime Gong head or totally new to the sounds, this is a relaxed space to hear the music, ask questions about the church’s philosophy and practices, and connect with others drawn to the intersection of sound, consciousness, and community.</p><p>Free and open to all. No experience necessary — just bring your ears and your curiosity.</p>
