Joe Eskenazi and Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez discuss the results of the primary election and what that means for us going into November.

Join us for a riveting discussion with renowned journalists Joe Eskenazi (Mission Local) and Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez (SF Standard) for a deep review of the state of politics today. Joe and Joe will hit the results of the June Primary. What does this mean for the various elections going into November? What happened with the ballot measures? Any big surprises or things to keep an eye on? Nothing is off limits with these two!

Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez is a politics reporter for The Standard. He was raised in San Francisco and has spent his career in his beloved, foggy, city by the bay. Joe is a proud alum of City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University. He most recently wrote for KQED’s politics team, and previously penned a local political column for the San Francisco Examiner. Joe began reporting at 12-years-old, when he grilled former mayor Willie Brown for the Marina Middle School newspaper, The Penguin Press. When not reporting, Joe enjoys playing retro video games and is a die-hard Trekkie.

Joe Eskenazi was born in San Francisco, raised in the Bay Area, and attended UC Berkeley. He never left. “Your humble narrator” was a writer and columnist for SF Weekly from 2007 to 2015, and a senior editor at San Francisco Magazine from 2015 to 2017. You may also have read his work in the Guardian (U.S. and U.K.); San Francisco Public Press; San Francisco Chronicle; San Francisco Examiner; Dallas Morning News; and elsewhere. He resides in the Excelsior with his wife and three (!) kids, 4.3 miles from his birthplace and 5,474 from hers. The Northern California branch of the Society of Professional Journalists named Eskenazi the 2019 Journalist of the Year.
