Hear about wetland restoration with Chris Seal, retired US Fish & Wildlife, and healthy streams with Jordan Anderson, Yamhill SWCD
Registration is free, but required.
Join us at Muddy Valley Habitat Reserve just outside of McMinnville!
Hear about how a hayfield became a wetland from retired USFWS biologist/wetland architect, Chris Seal. It takes more than rain to create a diverse functioning wetland! This was a large scale, multi-year effort to restore 90 acres into a wildlife haven but there will be tips and tricks you can learn to enhance boggy areas you may manage. Also, learn from Yamhill SWCD Conservation Programs Manager, Jordan Anderson about what makes for a healthy stream system as we walk along Muddy Creek.
Please be aware that this property is relatively remote and undeveloped. There are no restroom facilities on site. Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate shoes, and bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and insect repellant. We will be walking about 1.5 miles.
This property in Yamhill County is managed for sensitive native plants and wildlife. It is not normally open to the public. The address will be provided to registered participants via email a few days before the event.
