ARTIST TALK: In Conversation with Yandell Walton
Join artist Yandell Walton, as she discusses her work and residency at BigCi.
Join artist Yandell Walton in conversation, as she discusses her work in Entangled Grounds and residency at BigCi. Yandell's talk will be followed by drinks and nibbles, with time for continued conversation.
Entangled Grounds brings together new works by Yandell Walton and Mar Serinyà Gou, developed during residencies at BigCi on the edge of the Wollemi National Park and presented in partnership with Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.
The exhibition explores how artists can work with the land as an active collaborator rather than a subject. Yandell Walton’s Becoming With uses digitally generated environments shaped by environmental forces and nonhuman agency, while Mar Serinyà Gou’s Back to the Beginning responds to place through elemental, land-based actions and performances. Together, the works reflect on cycles of change, interconnection and our place within the natural world.
