城市人的生活從不停歇。你對上一次停下腳步、認真觀察某事物是什麼時候？

在這場工作坊，我們將以日常物製作針孔攝影機，在深水埗的某角落駐足；然後打開前後快門，自願被攝影機的凝視定格。動彈不得的二十分鐘內，只好和攝影機一起努力觀察，記錄面前每片葉子的晃動、每個過客的故事。

在黑房昏弱的紅色光線下，成像將被顯影。這會是我們曾經觀看的證明嗎？還是在萬物皆虛的年代，文字與圖像仍不足以構成真實？我們將仰賴不可靠敘事者的供詞，建構一個在平行時空的深水埗上演的平凡下午。

The Shared Gaze With A Pinhole Camera, Or The Unreliable Narrator

-Pinhole photography workshop

Life in the city is in a constant flow. Do you still remember the last time when you stopped and - really intensely - observed something?

In this workshop, we will station in certain spots in Sham Shui Po. Putting ourselves under the gaze of pinhole cameras facing the front and back, we will be temporarily frozen in scene, critically observing every sway of the leaf, and the untold stories of every passerby.

Under the dim red light of the darkroom, the image slowly shows. Will this serve as proof of what we once witnessed? Or, in an era where all things are illusory, do words and images suffice to constitute reality? Relying on the testimony of unreliable narrators, we will construct just another ordinary afternoon in an alternate reality Sham Shui Po.

This workshop is organised under the exhibition ‘A Studio Space, A Soil Land Problem’ by Sherman Lam.
