This free annual celebration honors voices raised for truth and brings together history, arts, literature, music, and family-friendly activities for guests of all ages, including
- Open house tours of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House
- Admission to featured summer art exhibit WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FREE? by Ciara Leroy.
- Meet-and-greet with Harriet Beecher Stowe
- Live music from the Richard Goering Ensemble
- Poetry showcase and open mic featuring winners from the Stowe Garden Poetry Contest
- DIY bracelet-making station for all ages
- “Children Celebrate Toni Morrison” activities led by staff from the Walnut Hills Library
- Lawn games including cornhole, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles
- Community partner tables featuring the Museums & Historic Sites of Greater Cincinnati Passport, interactive Letters to America station, artifacts from the Walnut Hills Historical Society, and information from Heritage Village
Guests will also enjoy complimentary treats including an ice cream sundae station, popcorn, chips, and cupcakes.“Happy Birthday Harriet!” celebrates the enduring legacy of Harriet Beecher Stowe and the power of storytelling, activism, and community engagement. The annual event creates opportunities for families and neighbors to gather, reflect, and celebrate voices that continue to inspire positive change.The event is free and open to the public.
