Warehouse District: Modern History - Take a Hike Summer Series tour

The interactive walking tours are led by knowledgeable guides that will share fascinating facts about historical assets and key figures that helped make Cleveland a special place. You'll learn about architecture, cultural development, historic preservation, and Cleveland's role in American history.

The Warehouse District: Modern History Tour meets outside the parking lot located NW corner of W3th & St Clair (1292 W 3rd St). Please arrive 15 minutes early as the tour starts promptly.

About the Tour: The Warehouse District, often called Downtown’s First Neighborhood, is Cleveland’s 19th century commercial center. The mix of architecture and scale made this a perfect place for the adaptive reuse that emerged in the 1980s and continues today.

Modern History Route

Discover how the Warehouse District became the catalyst for downtown Cleveland’s revival. Once facing decline, this historic neighborhood led the way in the 1980s through pioneering preservation efforts and the strategic use of historic preservation financing tools. These investments sparked one of the city’s first large-scale adaptive reuse movements—transforming vacant warehouses into vibrant residences, restaurants, and workplaces. This tour explores the vision and partnerships that turned preservation into progress.

Tour incluses stepping inside Brideview Apartments, an award winning redevelopment project.

RESERVATIONS are requested but not required, walk-ups the day of tour are welcomed.

PARKING is available for $5 in the lot(no home Browns game).
