Florida's Carnivorous Plants Presentation

Bay PreserveOsprey, FL
Overview

Join us for a lively and informative look at Florida’s carnivorous plants.

Join Sarah Denison Williams, Community Education Manager with Big Waters Land Trust, for a lively and informative look at Florida’s carnivorous plants. In this engaging presentation, we will explore what makes a plant truly carnivorous, why some species evolved to trap and digest insects, and which species are found in Florida and right here in our region. We will also take a closer look at the unique habitats where they grow, from wet prairies to pine flatwoods, and connect the dots between land conservation and plant protection, highlighting why saving natural areas is essential not just for carnivorous plants, but for the health and diversity of all native plants in Florida.

This program is recommended for teens and adults. This is a lecture-style program that may not be suitable for small children.

Your gift of $5 or more per person will help Big Waters Land Trust save wild places and continue to engage people in nature. We greatly appreciate your support!
