Overview

Join us to explore the fascinating world of Florida’s native owls.

Join us to explore the fascinating world of Florida’s native owls with Sarah Denison Williams, Community Education Manager with Big Waters Land Trust. In this presentation, we’ll meet several of the owl species that call Florida home and learn how to identify them by their distinctive calls, behaviors, and physical features. From the tiny Eastern Screech-Owl to the powerful Great Horned Owl and the charismatic Burrowing Owl, we’ll uncover how these remarkable birds hunt, nest, and adapt to life in both wild and urban landscapes. We’ll also discuss simple ways you can help protect owls and support healthy habitats in your own community. Whether you’re a dedicated birder or simply curious about these mysterious nighttime hunters, this presentation offers a closer look at some of Florida’s most captivating birds of prey.

This program is recommended for teens and adults. This is a lecture-style program that may not be suitable for small children.

Your gift of $5 or more per person will help Big Waters Land Trust save wild places and continue to engage people in nature. We greatly appreciate your support!
