Our Featured Artist: Fatima Wilson 🥁✨

Introduced to the Steelpan at the age of 5 by her father, Dr. Salah Wilson, Fatima began performing alongside her 5 siblings. 👧🏿🎵 They were known as the 'pan family' and were well known as Salah and Family Steelpan Workshop, performing for thousands of events while also participating in many annual competitions. 👨🏿‍👩🏿‍👧🏿‍👦🏿🥰

Her vision is one just like her father's as she continues to teach the steelpan as an extra-curricular activity program in the E.M.S.B. schools. 🏫👩🏿‍🏫 Fatima continues to grow the steelpan movement in Montreal, determined to have it become a recognized credited program amongst all schools in Montreal. 💪🏿🇨🇦🎶

Our open mic series was created in honour of Paul "Bad News Brown" Frappier, and every event carries the mandate to celebrate our artists—today and always. 🙌🏿✨ This month, in the spirit of Mother's Day, we invite you to share words of gratitude, stories, and tributes. 👩🏾‍🦱🌹💌
