Do all tours contain the same content?

While some tours may highlight similar stories, not all tours are the same. You are welcome to attend multiple cemetery tours throughout the season and are sure to learn something new from the different cemetery tour guides.

I missed the registration cutoff, can I still attend?

Yes, we save spaces for walk-up participants! Space is not guaranteed but we have rarely had to turn anyone away.

Are tours suitable for all ages?

Yes, our guides are excellent at sharing the stories of those who have passed in a sensitive manner and adjusting language to suit the audience. However, parental guidance is suggested if attending a tour with a younger participant.

Join volunteer tour guides on a walk through time to learn about the people, personalities and events that shaped Calgary.

To learn about the ordinary folks who did extraordinary things, join a volunteer guide for a tour at the historic Chinese Cemetery. Tours begin beside the pagoda.

Tours may be cancelled due to extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances. If you do not see your tour guide, please contact 3-1-1 for an update on the tour status as 311 operators will be notified if a tour is cancelled.

Please arrive on-time to secure your registered spot as space is limited. Any open spaces at the beginning of the tour will be given to walk-up participants.

Free street parking is available alongside the Chinese Cemetery.

Note: Cemeteries are not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Pets are not permitted. Terrain contains uneven ground and slopes - comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
