Online ticket sales end 2 hours prior to the start of the event. Pre-registration is only available online via credit card payment. Tickets may still be purchased at the door using cash, check, or credit card.Late seating is at the discretion of the artist and The Dance Complex, and may not be available after the start time of a performance. In general, we advise arriving at least 15 minutes before the show start time. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show, at which time our bar is open in our lobby space. After the show has begun, entry is not guaranteed and refunds are not available. You may receive a refund through Eventbrite up until 24 hours prior to the event.Our ground-level lobby area and performance space is ADA compliant. Gender-neutral accessible bathrooms are located on both the ground and second-floor levels of the building. There is a motorized lift that can bring one person at a time from the ground floor to the second floor should a guest wish to use it. The Dance Complex

Sara Juli shares her method of seamlessly fusing movement with text, to generate material in a way that is introspective and personal.

About this workshop:Maine-based Performance Artist, Sara Juli will lead students through a workshop that teaches tools from her signature method of seamlessly fusing movement with text, as part of a process of generating material for autobiographical, introspective work.&nbsp; Through journaling, dance improvisation, sound and text, participants will leave with a bit of choreography that acts as a portal to something vulnerable and personal. The workshop is appropriate for dance and/or theater artists or students and non-artists alike.&nbsp; Please bring a notebook or paper and pen for writing. This workshop is held in Studio 7, on the ground floor of The Dance Complex. About Sara Juli:Maine-based performance artist <a href="https://www.sarajuli.com" title="https://www.sarajuli.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sara Juli</a> (she/her) has been creating and performing innovative comedic dance-theater for over 25 years. She has been fortunate to tour her work to venues worldwide including: American Dance Festival, Dixon Place, Performance Space New York, The Chocolate Factory, New York Live Arts, Judson Church, TEDxDirigo, Bates Dance Festival, Bowdoin College, Connecticut College, Dance Complex, SPACE Gallery, 3S Artspace, Capital Center for the Arts, Napa Valley Opera House, Artown Festival (NV), Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Noorderzon Festival (The Netherlands), Chelsea Theatre (London), Aotea Centre (New Zealand), TSEH (Russia) and many more. Her work has been commissioned by American Dance Festival, Performance Space 122 (NYC), Dixon Place (NYC), SPACE Gallery (ME), Portland Ovations (ME), and The Strand Theatre (ME). Sara is the Founder/Director of <a href="https://www.suralaconsulting.com" title="https://www.suralaconsulting.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Surala Consulting</a>, a fundraising consultancy helping non-profits and artists build and execute fundraising strategies. She was awarded the Arts Management Award from Brooklyn Arts Exchange in 2013, and has been an advisor to the grantees of The Boston Foundation’s Live Arts and Next Step Programs. @sarajulimoves
