How does speed dating work?

Each speed date will be 2 minutes long, with the speed dating portion being approximately 45 minutes. You never know if you're going to find a friend or flame.

Doors open at 7:30p. Speed dating starts promptly at 8pm.

We get it, meeting strangers can be intimidating but we're here to help! We value a fun and safe environment and do everything we can to make sure our guests feel confident and comfortable. Our hosts are around to ease the nerves and we provide conversation cards for the speed dating portion.

What if I like someone that I meet at friend or flame?

We provide "I like you" cards at check-in that makes it easy to exchange information with your new friend or flame.

Why spend my night with friend or flame?

Dating apps are exhausting so we created these events with the intention to meet people IRL and spark deeper connections.

Question 7

What if I'm Bi, Pan, or Omnisexual and have more than one dating preference?

Accepted Answer

You’re welcome at any and all Friend or Flame events. Our editions are organized around who you’ll be dating that evening, so it’s up to you which events feel right for your preferences. Many bi, pan, and omni folks join multiple editions depending on who they’re interested in connecting with.

I'm non-binary. Is there an event for me?

All gender expressions are welcome at every Friend or Flame event. Editions simply specify who you’ll be dating that evening so pick the one that matches your interest. While we don’t yet offer exclusive events for every orientation or gender expression, all are welcome in our spaces.

What if I am outside of the listed age range?

Accepted Answer

The suggested age range is a soft guideline. If you are over 40, you are still absolutely welcome to attend and we’d love to have you! Our aim is to host events with varying age ranges in the near future, to allow even more opportunity for preferential matches. 21+!!

Question 10

What if I arrive late? Will I still have a chance to speed date?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you'll be able to date if you arrive after the listed start time for our speed dating portion. Please arrive on time in order to check in and grab your seat. If you are running late, feel free to send us a dm on IG, so we may do everything we can to accommodate!

Are your events accessible for guests with disabilities?

If you have mobility requirements, email us at info@friendorflame.com. Please note this event includes music, lively conversation, and crowds, which may be overstimulating for some guests with sensory sensitivities.
