Overview

This is a list of summer opportunities being offered through Robeson County 4-H for youth between the ages of 5-18.

Register Today for a Summer of Fun!

Robeson County 4-H is happy to announce our summer programs and activities for 2026. We invite you to join us for a fun and exciting summer of learning. The summer program has activities for all youth between the ages of 5 and 18. Membership in 4-H is not required, however, 4-H members will receive the first opportunity to sign up for programs thru May 15.

On May 16, the program will open to the public for general enrollment. Below is a description of the summer programs available through Robeson County 4-H. You will find descriptions about the programs, the dates, and the costs. There is a minimum number of children who must sign up for some programs, as well as a maximum number on most programs. Unless otherwise indicated, all camps will be held at the 4-H office. We are able to provide these programs at a reasonable cost thanks to funding support from Lumber River United Way.

Enrollment

To register, sign up and pay through Eventbrite. Registration will be handled on a first come, first served basis, and will only be accepted upon receipt of fees. Telephone, electronic, faxed, and mailed registration will not be accepted. Registration will continue until the camps are filled, or two weeks prior to the start date to make sure we have time to purchase supplies and make final reservations for field trips. All ages for registration are based on the child's 4-H Age which is how old they are on January 1, 2026. Please contact the 4-H office at (910) 671-3276 with any questions.

Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made when you register your child, by calling the 4-H office at (910)-671-3276 with any questions. We ask once you register, you fill out the paperwork on 4-H Online, if you don't already have an active profile. Youth must be registered in this system prior to attending any 4-H Summer Fun event. If you have questions or problems with registering in 4-H Online please contact Jade McNeill at (910) 671-3276.

Policies

•ALL FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE UNLESS A CAMP IS FILLED TO CAPACITY OR CANCELED. NECESSARY REFUNDS WILL BE MADE APPROPRIATELY.

•PUNCTUALITY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS IS EXPECTED, PARTICULARLY ON DAYS WHERE FIELD TRIPS ARE SCHEDULED. THE VAN WILL ONLY WAIT 5 MINUTES PAST THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME. PUNCTUALITY OF PARENTS/ADULTS/GUARDIANS PICKING UP YOUTH FOLLOWING PROGRAMS IS MANDATORY. YOUTH MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE TIME THE PROGRAM ENDS. IF THE 4-H STAFF MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO CARE FOR YOUR CHILD MORE THAN 30 MINUTES BEYOND THE INDICATED PICK-UP TIME, A FEE OF $60 PER 30 MINUTES WILL BE CHARGED.

•ALTHOUGH MANY OF OUR EXPERIENCES SEEM LIKE GREAT FAMILY ACTIVITIES, FAMILY MEMBERS NOT REGISTERED FOR THE PROGRAM CANNOT TRAVEL OR TOUR WITH US DUE TO LIABILITY ISSUES.

•IF A CAMP IS FULL, YOU CAN ADD YOUR NAME TO THE WAITING LIST, AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU PRIOR TO THE CAMP IF A SPACE BECOMES AVAILABLE.

Summer Opportunities

Adventure Seekers Day Camp: June 22-26, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 pm : Ages 9– 13:Cost: $150

Join us for an unforgettable week of adventure and exploration! This camp offers youth the opportunity to experience the outdoors through exciting, hands-on activities and engaging learning experiences. Participants will explore nature, learn about wildlife, and discover the world around them in fun and meaningful ways.

Throughout the week, youth will take part in a variety of activities that encourage curiosity, teamwork, and personal growth. From outdoor exploration to interactive learning opportunities, campers will gain new skills while building confidence and making new friends.

This camp is designed to create lasting memories while fostering a greater appreciation for the environment and the world we live in. Get ready for a week full of fun, discovery, and adventure! Cost includes lunches, two snacks, supplies, field trips and transportation.

The deadline to register is June 8.

Junior Chef Mini Day Camp-The Bakery Edition: June 29- July 1, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Ages 9 – 13: Cost: $100

Get ready to mix, measure, and bake your way to delicious fun! The 4-H Jr. Chef Day Camp: Bakery Edition is a hands-on, interactive experience designed for youth who love sweets, creativity, and learning new kitchen skills.

During this exciting camp, participants will step into the role of a junior baker, exploring the art and science of baking. Campers will learn how to follow recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and practice essential kitchen safety and sanitation. From fluffy muffins and classic cookies to simple breads and decorated cupcakes, each day brings a new tasty creation to enjoy.

In addition to baking, youth will discover the basics of nutrition, teamwork, and food presentation. Campers will build confidence in the kitchen while expressing their creativity through decorating and experimenting with flavors. The cost includes lunches, two snacks a day, supplies, and field trips.

The deadline to register is June 15.

Jr. Master Gardener Day Camp: July 6- 10, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Ages 9 – 13: Cost: $150

Dig into discovery at the 4-H Jr. Master Gardener Day Camp—an exciting, hands-on outdoor experience for youth who love nature, plants, and getting their hands dirty!

This engaging camp introduces participants to the basics of gardening, plant science, and environmental stewardship. Campers will learn how plants grow, explore soil and composting, and discover the important role of pollinators like bees and butterflies. Each day is filled with fun lessons, creative projects, and outdoor exploration. At the end of the week youth will be able to be certified as 4-H Jr. Master Gardeners which is a National Certification.

Cost covers lunch, snacks, and drinks each day.  Plus two field trips (to the NC Zoo and Durham Life Sciences Museum), and their own JMG Handbook.

The deadline to register is June 30.

Limit is 12 youth.

4-H Van Camp: July 13- 17, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Ages 14 – 18: Cost: $250

Hit the road for adventure with 4-H Van Camp—an exciting, travel-based experience where youth explore new places, learn new skills, and make unforgettable memories!

Van Camp is designed to get participants out into their community and beyond, visiting a variety of educational and fun destinations. Each day brings a new adventure along the way, campers learn about agriculture, science, history, and careers through hands-on experiences and behind-the-scenes tours.

More than just field trips, Van Camp helps youth build independence, teamwork, and social skills. Campers practice responsibility while traveling together, following schedules, and representing 4-H in the community.  Cost includes snacks, lunch, field trips, hotel accomadations, and meals while travelling.

The deadline to register is June 29.

Minimum of 5 youth. Limit 12 youth.

Congress: July 20- 24: Ages 14 – 18: Cost: $450

4-H Congress is the ultimate teen leadership opportunity for 4-H members. We will spend five days in Raleigh with youth taking part in workshops, cultural opportunities, and social events. Youth will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles, complete community service projects, and just have fun making new friends with their peers. Scholarship opportunities are available for this event based on the 4-H member's participation in 4-H over the past year. That information will be shared with families of eligible youth after District Activity Day.

The deadline to register is July 1.

Limit is 10 youth.

Betsy-Jeff Penn Overnight Camp: July 27 - August 1, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Ages 9 – 14: Cost: $595

For youth interested in a traditional camping experience. Youth will travel to Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center in Reidsville, NC for the week and take part in activities such as archery, rock wall climbing, and swimming. They will also have the opportunity to learn to take care of themselves and make decisions in a safe, nurturing environment. The cost covers all meals, lodging, and transportation. A $150 nonrefundable deposit will reserve your child’s slot.

Deadline to Register is July1

Limit is 40 youth.

Biotech Day Camp: August 3- August 7, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Ages 9 – 13: Cost: $150

Step into the world of science and discovery at 4-H Biotech Day Camp—an exciting, hands-on experience for youth interested in biology, technology, and real-world problem solving!

At this engaging camp, participants explore the fascinating field of biotechnology through interactive experiments and activities. Campers will learn about DNA, genetics, microbes, and how science is used in agriculture, medicine, and environmental conservation. From extracting DNA and using microscopes to conducting simple lab experiments, youth will gain a deeper understanding of how science shapes the world around them.

Campers also develop important STEM skills such as critical thinking, observation, and teamwork while working on fun, age-appropriate projects. Whether they’re solving a mock science challenge or learning about careers in biotechnology, each day is filled with discovery and innovation. Cost covers all snacks, lunches field trips and transportation.

Cloverbud Day Camp: August 10- 14, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Ages 5 – 8: Cost: $80

Our Cloverbud day camp is for our youngest members and is meant to help them transition back to school schedules in a fun way. Each day we will have theme days such as Arts and Crafts, Science Day, Cooking day. Our youth will be immersed in fun hands-on activities that will have them accidentally learning along the way. The camp runs from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm. The fee covers lunch each day, two snacks a day, and supplies.

The deadline to register is July 27.

Limit is 15 youth.
