Overview

Meditation, path to powerful well being. Explore your inner spaces through practicing a meditation lifestyle & on a non-violent path.

Practicing Peace Inside and Out: Gandhi and Meditation

Choosing the Non-Violent Path & Meditation Lifestyle

A 4 Week Class Series with Cathy Comstock

In these literally explosive times, global and personal peace may seem unlikely dreams. But if we look closely at both research and experiential learning, we will find that nonviolent approaches are the winners over and again. The million-trillion dollar, world-saving question is, “How do we do it?”

Starting with the personal, meditation is a path to powerful well being, both emotional and physical. Every class will include a simple meditation especially designed to take you straight to your most enriching inner spaces. These are also very easy to include in your everyday life. We will also read about the choices that can make meditation a constant lifestyle with remarkable benefits. We will additionally look at Nonviolent Communication and the ways it can bring ease and empathy to all your interactions.

On the global level, political scientists have been surprised to find that a nonviolent approach to oppression is on average more than three times more successful than violence. In class we’ll have the pleasure of watching some of Gandhi’s most inspiring triumphs and analyzing the reasons that nonviolence can work so well. (And when it doesn’t, why not?)

Finally, as an extra added benefit, we will learn how to end global terrorism! (Feel free to tell friends and family who have also been eager to know the secret.)
