What is included in the ticket price?

You can access the Amtrak VIP lounge in Chicago before and after your trip.  Your ticket price includes travel on the historic Colonial Crafts Pullman car, Full hot Breakfast served to you while traveling from Chicago to Grand Rapids.

Question 2

is this a one way ticket or round trip?

Accepted Answer

We offer $150 one way, or $250 round trip options.  You can buy a regular Amtrak ticket over and bring the Pullman back to Chicago or Vice Versa. Or, partner with friends so one group drives one way and the other group drives back; you  both enjoy the Pullman and you have an auto while in Michigan.

Question 3

is it safe to ride a 75 year old rail car?

Accepted Answer

YES - our car is inspected before every trip.  It undergoes intensive inspection once per year by certified Amtrak inspectors.  Every ten years, the car undergoes ultrasonic testing.  The Colonial Crafts is qualified by the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration to travel at 110 mph.

What is there to do while onboard the train?

Accepted Answer

Look out the window and enjoy the scenery going by!  the car is  equipped with wi-fi.  Many passengers enjoy chatting with fellow travelevers, sipping an adult beverage or a cup of  coffee, or playing card games or dominoes.

Question 5

Who else will be traveling on the Pullman Car?

Accepted Answer

We have a professional chef, and one to three Pullman Porters to attend to your needs.   While the car can hold a maximum of 34 passengers, we limit ticket sales to 20 to ensure you do not feel crowded and so we can provide First Class personal service to you during your entire journey.
