San Juan - Women's Work Film Screening & Local Female Farmer Panel
Join us for a screening of Women’s Work: The Untold Story of America’s Female Farmers followed by a conversation with SJI women farmers
In celebration of 2026 being declared by the United nations as the International year of the Female Farmer, enjoy light refreshments, and a powerful documentary produced by Audra Mulkern, founder of the Female Farmer Project.
Through a rich tapestry of stories, Women’s Work highlights the contributions of both historical and contemporary female farmers. The film offers a uniquely matrilineal perspective on American agriculture, featuring diverse voices and farming practices from across the country.
After the film screening, hear from local farmers Louisa Brouwer, Amanda Zee and Angie Freeman about their experiences farming on San Juan Island.
We hope you’ll join us for an evening of storytelling, connection, and community.
