Witness Work: The Quilts of Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi by Dr. Sharbreon Plummer

Join us for public lecture and discussion led by Dr. Sharbreon Plummer examining cultural histories and the role of art and craft in democracy, particularly in relation to the current political climate and Dr. Mazloomi’s work within U.S. history. This lecture is presented in conjunction with Threads of History: Quilts by Carolyn Mazloomi, The Contemporary Dayton’s landmark solo exhibition of recent work by award-winning artist, historian, and curator Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, presented in partnership with The Charles F. Kettering Foundation.

Dr. Plummer is an internationally published writer, public scholar, curator, and interdisciplinary artist from south Louisiana. She is the founder of AYA Thought Studio and has spent the past fifteen years developing and facilitating transformative programs, initiatives, and research centered on liberation and justice through arts and culture. She received her PhD in Arts Administration, Education, and Policy from The Ohio State University.
